Over 40 participants coming from academic institutions, public and private research institutes,
ministries and blue associations, attended to the national info day on Partnership on Research
and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) programme and BLUEMED initiative.
The info day has been organized by the premises of the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education of the Republic of Croatia. The objective of the PRIMA programme is to develop
much-needed solutions for a more sustainable management of water and agro-food systems,
while BLUEMED initiative is promoting the blue economy in the Mediterranean Basin
through cooperation.
The meeting has been opened by the State Secretary for Science Dr. Tome Antičić, who
welcomed participants and accentuated importance of Croatian participation in these
initiatives and programmes. PRIMA programme has been introduced by Mirela Čokešić,
introducing programme topics, rules of participation and overall programme budget.
BLUEMED Initiative has been presented by Dr. Ivica Vilibić, who familiarised the audience
with the initiative, the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and the structure. The latter
also included presentation of national pivots and their role in interfacing the initiative
consortium and national blue stakeholders, in performing dissemination and networking and
in moderating activities at national level.
