Five years after the adoption of the Blue Growth Strategy in 2012, the European Commission publishes a Report on the Blue Growth Strategy, “Towards more sustainable growth and jobs in the blue economy”.

In these years, the Commission has launched initiatives in many policy areas related to Europe’s oceans, seas and coasts, facilitating the cooperation between maritime business and public authorities across borders and sectors, and stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of the marine environment.

This report examines what has been learned and what has been achieved since 2012, what is ongoing and what is still missing.
